We’re excited to announce ‘Second Chance Racing and Outdoor Sports’ – a brand for athletes of all ages and backgrounds who are defying the odds and returning to sports after experiencing major injuries, illness, surgeries, or other types of adversity and ‘life obstacles’.
Founder Josh Koehler is an aortic dissection survivor, stroke survivor, and open heart surgery survivor. The founder’s son “shades” was born with a vision disability called Achromatopsia and has been legally blind since birth – but has overcome his challenges to become a world-record-holding adaptive athlete.
Our company seeks to promote the stories and journeys of challenged and adaptive athletes, cardiac warriors, cancer survivors, amputees, injury “comeback” athletes, disabled military veterans and so many more – all joining together to show others that you don’t have to give up and don’t have to succumb to the negative opinions of doctors who underestimate us. We are more than a condition and more than a diagnosis!
In the coming months, we will continue to feature others on social media – feel free to tag us! We believe that each person’s journey can be a roadmap for someone else. Be on the lookout for shirts and/or race kits, branded merch, and more!
Would you like to be considered for a feature? Follow our new Instagram page where we cover trail running, MTB, swimming, cycling, triathlons, duathlons, obstacle course racing, and other outdoor sports!
If you have sponsorship or partnership ideas please let us know! You can also check out the ‘2C Racing’ founder on social media as he continues a comeback from open heart surgery and attempts to continue thriving in Spartan races and in new swim / bike / run triathlon adventures. God bless and stay tuned for more!!
